CLIPR docs
Everything about launching, clipping and getting paid. Short version: How it works.
Getting started
You need a Solana wallet, such as Phantom. There are no passwords and no email.
- Click Select Wallet (top right) and choose your wallet.
- Approve the sign-in message. It's a signature, not a transaction: it costs nothing and moves nothing.
- That wallet is your account, and it's where your earnings are sent. You also get a personal code like clipr-7f3kq2, shown when you clip a coin and in your account menu.
Launching a coin
Every coin on CLIPR is a real pump.fun coin. Go to Launch, enter a name, ticker and image, and approve in your wallet.
Your wallet signs two transactions:
- Create the coin on pump.fun.
- Create its Clip Pool and lock the fee split of the coin's pump.fun creator fees: 75% to its Clip Pool, 15% goes to CLIPR and 10% to you. pump.fun only allows this split to be set once, so after launch nobody can change it.
CLIPR lists the coin only after checking on-chain that both happened. The cost is a few cents of SOL in network fees and deposits.
Clip Pools
Each coin has its own Clip Pool: a vault on Solana with no withdraw function. pump.fun pays the coin's fee share into it, and the only way money leaves is as payouts to clippers for verified views.
- The coin's creator has no access to it at all.
- CLIPR runs the escrow that pays clippers. See Safety for exactly what CLIPR's operator keys can and can't do.
- Fees are collected into the pool automatically about every 10 minutes.
- The pool's balance, its clips and every payout are shown on the coin's page.
Pay rates (CPM)
Clippers earn a fixed amount per 1,000 new views (CPM). The rate is set automatically by the coin's market cap and rises as the coin grows, including after it graduates to PumpSwap. Coin creators can't choose or change it.
Rates are in USD, paid in SOL at the SOL price when the views are counted. Views already paid are never re-priced when the rate changes.
Submitting clips
- Post a video about the coin on TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.
- Put your CLIPR code anywhere in that account's bio (YouTube: channel description). Anything else can be in the bio too. Capital letters don't matter.
- Open the coin's page → Clip this coin → paste the video link → Submit.
Rules:
- The video must be public and posted after the coin launched.
- Full links and share links both work (e.g. tiktok.com/t/…, youtube.com/shorts/…, instagram.com/reel/…).
- Each video can be claimed once. If someone else's claim on your video is rejected, you can still submit it.
- A coin's creator can't earn from clips of their own coin.
Review
The coin's creator reviews each submission: they open the posting account, check the clipper's code is in the bio (that proves the video is the clipper's), and approve or reject the content. Approval never moves money by itself.
Reviewing is the creator's job, and it's in their interest: they earn fees from their coin, and approved clips are what promote it. A clip waits until it's reviewed; nothing is approved automatically. CLIPR's admins can also review clips, for example when a creator is away.
You can remove the code from your bio once your clip is approved. It keeps earning.
Views and earnings
- Only views gained after you submit count. CLIPR records the view count at submission as the starting point.
- Approved clips are first checked about 5 minutes after approval, then about every 15 minutes while they keep gaining views. A clip that stops gaining views is checked less often (up to every 24 hours) and goes back to every 15 minutes when it grows again. Once views are counted, the earnings reach your wallet once you're owed $0.50, or within 15 minutes.
- Earnings = new views ÷ 1,000 × the coin's CPM, in SOL. Each view is paid once.
- Earnings can't exceed what's in the coin's Clip Pool. Views beyond that wait and are paid when more fees arrive.
- Unusual activity (e.g. huge view jumps with no likes) is held for review instead of paid automatically.
- If you delete the video or make it private, it stops earning. Anything already earned stays yours.
The view counts shown on clips are from the last check, not live.
Payouts
- Automatic. There's nothing to claim. You're paid as soon as you're owed at least $0.50, or within 15 minutes of your last payout if you're owed less, whichever comes first.
- Grouping small amounts means fewer, larger payouts instead of a transaction for every few cents. Nothing is lost: everything you earn is paid.
- Paid in SOL, straight from the coin's Clip Pool to the wallet you signed in with.
- A brand-new, empty wallet can't receive less than about 0.001 SOL (a Solana rule), so tiny first payouts wait until you're owed at least that.
- Large payouts may be split across several runs because of per-payout and daily safety limits.
- Your history is in Portfolio; every payout is a Solana transaction you can look up.
How big pools get
Pools are funded by pump.fun's creator fee on every trade, which depends on where the coin is:
- On the bonding curve (before graduating): 0.3% of each trade, so the Clip Pool gets about 0.225% of trading volume.
- After graduating to PumpSwap: pump.fun's creator fee ranges from 0.95% for smaller coins down to 0.05% for the largest, so the pool gets between about 0.71% and 0.037% of volume.
Example: $1,000,000 of trading on the bonding curve adds about $2,250 to the pool, enough for about 2,250,000 paid views at a $1.00 CPM.
pump.fun sets these rates and can change them; the split between the pool, CLIPR and the creator is fixed per coin.
Safety
- A Clip Pool has no withdraw function. Money only leaves as payouts to clippers, up to what CLIPR's signing key confirms they earned, within per-payout and daily limits. Coin creators have no control over it.
- What CLIPR's operator keys can do: pause payouts in an emergency, change the payout limits, replace the signing key, and upgrade the escrow program. Those powers exist to protect the pools, but they're powerful, so before CLIPR runs on mainnet they move to a multisig (several keys must agree) with a time delay, making any change public before it takes effect. CLIPR also monitors the escrow and is alerted to any change or unexpected payout within minutes.
- CLIPR never asks for your passwords, seed phrase or wallet keys. Signing in is a message signature only.
- Videos are verified with public data and your code. CLIPR never asks for your TikTok, Instagram or YouTube login.
FAQ
Can I submit an old video that already has views?
No. It must be posted after the coin launched, and only views gained after you submit count.
Why do the views on my clip look out of date?
They update at each check (about every 15 minutes while a clip is growing), not live. Payouts always use the checked numbers.
Do I have to keep the code in my bio forever?
No, only until your clip is approved.
Can I use the same video for two coins?
No. Each video can be claimed once.
The pool ran out. Do I lose my views?
No. Unpaid views wait and are paid when the coin earns more fees.
Do I need to disclose that I'm paid?
Follow each platform's rules for paid promotion (e.g. TikTok's and YouTube's disclosure settings or #ad). Nothing on CLIPR is financial advice.
